Tyler CP 5

On my way to Tea time this Friday, I was fortunate to meet the owner of Bahn Thai. Everyone calls her Mama Sue. She was so delightful. She has been in Tallahassee for 32 years. She is originally from Thailand. Because she was so poor, her parents made her marry at the age of 17. Her husband was 57 at the time. I was perplexed. But she said, that a family would do this if they were poor. It allowed them to get more support for the family.

I was so honored to be speaking with her. She is such a phenomenal women. She was telling me how her experiences growing up in Thailand have made her very strong, a strength she encourages amongst her children. They have all attended college by her finances! This encouraged me. After talking about her children and grandchildren's accomplishments, she expressed her religious beliefs and told me that this is where she got her strength. It reminded me how similar different religions could be. I asked her if there were any temples that she knew of in Tallahassee. She couldn't suggest any. If anyone is looking for good Thai food in Tallahassee, I would try Bahn Thai. The food is delicious.
