I had a quick opportunity to meet with Chang today for a little bit more than half an hour. We met up for an afternoon coffee. I talked to him about my cultural presentation and how I brought in Kimchi for the class without any rice or additional meal. He was surprised by this and even more surprised that a substantial amount of people ate it. We then spoke a bit about fishing he told me that he goes to St. George's island interestingly enough with a former teacher of mine who I really got along with. We conversed a bit more about this and eventually got to the topic of Korean Food. I asked him what he liked the most and what he would avoid at all costs. He told me that Bulgogi was something he liked which is like a marinated beef in rice. He told me to avoid this fermented soy bean mixture which I forgot its name. He told me it tastes awful but is often had because of medicinal benefit. I took a note to look up medicinal foods in korea for a later date.
