After a total snafu on my part, I Skyped with Chae Hyeong today. While filling in my schedule for the week, I told him I was meeting with YoonJoo from 9-10, and I'd be free after 10. He promptly responded he wanted to meet via Skype at 10am. He was very excited to try out the technology outside of the library, and wanted me to meet his family and work on conversation more. Well, I realized this morning about 8:45 that I didn't clarify I was in a different time zone than Chae Hyeong. I have his email address, but with our limited communication abilities I had a hard time wording it in a simple way to reschedule. So, we ended up having a group conversation for a minute. :)
After speaking with YoonJoo, Chae and I conversed a short while, and unfortunately I was unable to meet his family this time as we ended up with technical difficulties with his computer. His sound card stopped working and he literally wrote on a piece of paper and held it in front of the camera. We discussed a future meeting via email, and will be meeting in person Thursday at the library. I have decided to request to edit both of my tutor partners' emails as they both wish to work on conversation and email is a common format.
This is why I don't trust technology or emails. They will work all the time and all day and right up until when you need it most. I always prefer the meeting in person than to get technology involved. Plus I feel like all my technological conversations are recorded and stored in a database somewhere...
