In the
evening on Wednesday, November 27, 2012, I met my buddy Woo Joo and help him
with his work. He needed to finish an
assignment that required him to perform a book report. It was interesting to see what questions were
included. Woo Joo chose a book about the
Korean War. He asked me for help, but
because I never read his book, I instead showed him pre-reading and skimming
techniques. He was happy to find an easy
way to find the information.
After we finished the assignment, I
found websites with different topics for Woo Joo to practice. These activities included knock, knock jokes;
funny quotes; and additional listening practice. It seems as if Woo Joo is really interested
in my teaching style because I give him the opportunity to choose his next
assignments. We often look for stories
that “look cool.”
