Nickie - TP9

On 12/6/12 I met with Christine at 12:30pm, an hour before the tutor session. She was nice enough to let me pick her brain for tutor/teaching resources online that have proven successful for her.  We shared some ideas, and I walked away with a list of useful websites.
The tuttle session started at 1:30, and there were 5 students this session. She brought the second part of the story of the fountain of youth she started the week prior. As the students breezed through last weeks activities, she toughened up this lesson. She took the unsimplified version of the story in old English and copied two paragraphs for the students to read aloud. There were many unfamiliar vocabulary words that were discussed after the reading.
We continued with part two of the story and vocabulary. After the story, students discussed specific vocabulary they had questions about in everyday conversations. We also discussed the winter festival as most students went.
I've really enjoyed being able to participate in tutor sessions at the Leon library. The people have been great!
