Tyler TP 7
The girls continue to be my greatest teachers. On Saturday, since I learned that they enjoyed dinosaurs, I came in with coloring sheets of dinosaurs for them. When I came, they were either happy to see me, or excited to see me with crayons. I had planned on having dinosaurs books to accompany me but it hadn't worked out like I had planned. When I came to their parents, I told them I was looking for a particular book I wanted to find and that I would be with them in five minutes. When the girls seen me, they were already expecting to begin working with me so they basically came along. It was so cute. So instead of making any deal about it, I asked if they would help me pick out the books I was looking for. I was trying to show them how to look at the call numbers to locate the text but this wasn't interesting enough, they knew what kinds of books they wanted. Its seems the more I allow them to explore, the more they blossom. For example, while we were coloring, I asked if they were going to write their names on their art, Anna was able to do it but her younger sister needed more help. She more so wasn't interested in participating. After her sister asked me how to write To: Daddy and To: Mommie, Yona, her younger sister asked me to help her write her name. Aww.. a teachable moment, I was delighted. I know want to practice some writing with them, I think this will also help keep their focus.
