Tyler CO1
It was exciting to see how much Vicky's teaching has improved. It reassured me that I will get better as I go along. On tuesday, I had the honor to observe her listening class. I took really great notes. The students lesson involved listening to a flight attendants announcement. Since many of her students would be flying to Washington D.C. for a conference during this holiday, she thought this lesson would be beneficial for them. Students were first asked to listen to the 2 minute clip and ask her about anything they didn't understand. She would also ask them questions to check understanding. After they discussed what was said as a class. She gave them a worksheet that made them fill in the missing words that corresponded to the clip. She also included a section that provided a word bank with new vocabulary that they would have to fill in. Her worksheets were really great. She knew all of her students name, vigilantly scanned her students work, while maintaining order at the same time. She seems like an awesome professor. She inspired me to put more into my handouts to check my students understanding.
