Tyler TP 3

I've discovered that Ms. Annie is a visual learner. I finally picked this up by paying attention to her note taking. She is often drawing pictures when I show her things on her computer. Today I used her preference in my teaching. Of the 100 questions on the civic portion test, one section was dedicated to our systems of government. To help her understand the process, I drew out a map on the white board that divided the U.S. government into the three branches of government. Under each branch, I listed there corresponding parts.  I even colored coordinated the branches. For example, when I drew the Executive branch, I colored the branch in orange and drew a drop down arrow that end at its function and parts.

Executive branch= headed by the president, enforces laws.

After explaining my map, she used the map to her advantage. She became the teacher then. It is amazing me how much of an impact using my students strengths are. When I get to the classroom, I hope to notice every students strengths so that I may properly address their needs. Ms. Annie and myself are getting better every day.
